Years ago, I discovered my mother's old photo albums in a metal military trunk in our
shed. They were moldy and rapidly deteriorating. I spent weeks painstakingly trying to
release the pictures from the sticky photo pages. Some of the photos were lost forever,
a heartbreaking realization. I did my best to scan the images to preserve what was left.

These few photos were all that remained after a fire destroyed most of my mom's childhood photos and took my grandfather's life.​

Since then, I have been learning the proper way to preserve family photos, slides, negatives and precious heirlooms.
